VIRTUS - Safe Environment

Bishop Mark Seitz has mandated that ALL adults employed or volunteering in the Diocese of El Paso must participate in our new Safe Environment Program – “PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN”. This program for adults contains information describing appropriate and inappropriate behaviors, what abuse is, how to identify behaviors which may be used by those seeking to abuse, and possible signs of abuse. There is an emphasis on the legal requirement to report suspected abuse to the appropriate authorities.

You can register on-line, by going to www.virtus.org. On the left side of the screen, just below the header, you will see a link in yellow for REGISTRATION. Click on the link and follow the instructions to create your profile and sign up for the training sessions. Note that there is a limited number of seats for each session. When you see the screen thanking you for your registration, you will see information about the Background Check. Please click on the link at the bottom that takes you to FASTRAX. Then you can complete the form to process your Background Check.

If you do NOT complete the Background Check and/or the PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN Training, you will no longer be allowed to serve in Ministry. Any new volunteers or employees must complete these requirements before they may begin serving. Annual renewal is required and will be available to complete on-line.

El Sr. Obispo Mark Seitz ha dado un mandato que todo adulto, empleado o voluntario, en la Diócesis de El Paso debe de participar en nuestro programa de Ambiente Seguro: “PROTEGIENDO A LOS NIÑOS DE DIOS”. Este programa contiene información la cual describe comportamiento apropiado e inapropiado; que es el abuso y como identificar comportamientos que se utilizan por los que abuzan, tambien identifica cuando hay abuso. Hacen énfasis de como reportar a las autoridades apropiadas cuando se sospecha que hay abuso.

Se pueden inscribir por internet ir al enlace www.virtus.org. Al lado izquierdo de la pagina, haga clic en el enlace Amarillo marcado “Español/Inscripción”. Siga las instrucciones para crear sus datos descriptivos e inscríbase para la sesión de entrenamiento. Hay un límite de asientos para cada sesión. Cuando vea en la pantalla que le dan las gracias por inscribirse vera la información para el FASTRAX. Esto es para revisar su historia antepasada.

Si no completa el entrenamiento de “PROTEGIENDO A LOS NIÑOS DE DIOS” y la entrevista de historia antepasada, no podrá participar en ministerio. Empleados o voluntarios nuevos deben de completar todo requisito antes de que empiecen en su ministerio.
